It is 竹の子 (takenoko = bamboo shoots) season again. Despite the success of last year's roadside stand, this year the kids didn't get organized enough to set up business. They have dug up many many many shoots, but have contented themselves with carting them around the neighborhood, delivering them for free to appreciative neighbors. The elderly people in our neighborhood are especially glad not only to receive the 竹の子 but also to have a visit from 2 cute delivery girls
